True Leadership Qualities Stand Out

According to the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, 80 percent of Americans believe that the United States faces a leadership crisis. Many people in leadership positions think that the right response is to become a “transactional leader.” They say, “I have money, you have labor, so let’s make an exchange.” Instead, according to The Harvard Business Review, our focus should be on becoming a “transformational leader.”

Transformational leadership qualities challenge people to grow professionally. In addition, transformational leaders challenge their colleagues to grow personally, emotionally and intellectually. Transformational leaders see four basic needs in people, and they work to meet those needs. In so doing, they help people to become more passionate, engaged and effective.

1) The need for tough-minded caring

Truly caring about your team and having them care about you may sound touchy-feely, but caring is essential to good leadership. Tough-minded caring builds a powerful, fully expressed workforce. When you truly care about people, you don’t let them remain ineffective or stagnant. You challenge them to become more than they are so that they can be truly successful. You call them to take tough actions and let them know that you are confident that they can succeed. When your team knows that you have their best interests in mind but aren’t afraid to call them on their mistakes, then you will win their respect and their admiration.

2) The need to grow

Effective leaders empower people to decide to become more than they are. Motionlessness and maintenance only exist in the human imagination. The alternative to not growing is to wither and decay. Therefore, the best leaders create an environment where their teams are constantly challenged to grow. Good leaders put the responsibility for change squarely on the team members’ shoulders. As a result, team members make the decision to extend themselves. When the choice comes from within, genuine growth takes place.

3) The need to contribute

People at their best forget about themselves and think instead of how they can contribute for the sake of the team. Instead of recruiting new team members to get the company’s shiny prize Camaro, they motivate themselves by thinking of how they can bring others along in the wake of their success. The best leaders always motivate people to act with the team in mind. When everyone contributes, everyone succeeds.

4) The need for meaning

People need to feel as though their personal and professional actions have a purpose. To feel as though they are a part of something greater gives people a sense of meaning and usefulness. Great leaders help people to see how their contributions matter. When people feel that their actions are significant, they are more likely to strive for excellence.

A successful MLM business owner enriches not only himself or herself but also the lives of everyone on the team. These actions will have recognizable significance. Good leadership qualities will build a successful business. More importantly, they will build a meaningful life.

These Personal Development Tips Can Help Anyone

iStock 000017866138Small 300x296 These Personal Development Tips Can Help Anyone It’s easy to get caught up in taking care of others, but it’s important to take care of you, as well. Taking the time to focus on your physical and mental well-being will make sure you stay healthy and are able to do the things you need to do. Here are some personal developments tips that will help you take better care of yourself.

Seek purpose in your life. If your daily work schedule and life schedule leave you feeling empty and unfulfilled, think about the things that truly mean something to you and find a way, however small, to participate. Even if you can’t devote your life to a cause you care about, you can devote a few minutes every day by volunteering, writing letters, and making phone calls. Find purpose by participating.

You can improve your life just by picking up a book. Books are a wonderful way to use your imagination, relax, or just to learn something new. And as an added bonus, reading is the best way to increase your vocabulary. So read your way to a better life!

Concentrate on getting through one day at a time. Sometimes, in the very beginning of trying to stop a bad habit or to implement better behavior we have to think in even smaller time increments. Very few people can make big changes all at once and be one-hundred percent successful.

You can improve your productivity in one simple way: waking up earlier. Waking up earlier not only boosts your confidence, but it gives you additional hours of the day to complete the day’s work. If you give yourself more time, you can work a little slower and ensure that you do the job right every time.

Belief

Stand up for your belief systems. Your convictions make your personal character, so be sure to defend what you think is right. There are times when we’re tempted to step down and follow the herd. However, standing up and being counted can encourage bravery in others and stop injustice before it starts.

Identify bad values in your life. Systemic and institutional bias can lead us to internalize faulty things, so it’s best to address any flaws in your belief system on your path to personal development. The better you understand the basis of your beliefs, the better you will feel about adhering to it.

You need to have a better understanding of what you believe in. Justifying your beliefs is a way to do this. It is always fulfilling to have facts and examples to back up your belief system. You are more credible to your peers if you have something to say about your beliefs.

Having faith is essential to the well-being of a person. Faith believes without seeing and then acting on your belief. It’s not enough to say you believe; you must put your faith into action. This means instead of just thinking you can get better, claim that you have been made whole. Show some faith!

Strong Belief

Live every day with integrity. The fact is that integrity is often overlooked as a positive trait, but having strong moral principles and character is an excellent way to take you seriously; to be proud of yourself. If you have the strong belief that you are on a good path, you will be more likely to stick to what you believe is the correct course of action. Don’t allow the actions of those around you to dilute your sense of integrity; instead, be a leader in the area.

Making you a priority may seem self- centered, but it really isn’t. Being the best you can be will benefit everyone in your life. In this article, you’ve learned many great personal development tips. Work to apply them in your life and you may see many people making positive remarks about the way you’ve changed.

Positive Change

When it comes to personal development be sure that you are training your body for all the right reasons. While it may be important to look your best, it is also crucial that you develop yourself in ways that improve your overall strength and endurance. This will help you mentally prepare for any challenge as well.

A great tip for personal development is to find the best in yourself before trying to be true to yourself. If you are not sure who you are, there is no way you can be true to yourself. Once you figure yourself out, then you can be true to yourself.

Get to know the real you. There are people who like to only see the positive in them and choose to ignore the negative. There are also people who choose to be fixated on the negative parts and forget about the positive. See the real and true you so that you can appreciate what you have and develop the areas that need it.

Having self-defense skills taught through martial arts will help your personal development. Martial Art teaches you to remain calm and face what you fear. It will also give you the confidence that you can tackle things you never thought possible. That confidence alone will help you become the best person you can be.

Make sure you get enough sleep at night. The average adult usually needs at least eight hours of sleep. If you have a hard time falling and staying asleep try activities that will tire you like exercising. By changing your routine you can develop better sleeping habits.

An important step of personal development is to train yourself to weed out the negative thoughts. This must be a proactive process. When you have a negative thought, stop, think, and rephrase that negative thought into a positive one. Before you know it the amount of negativity in your thinking will decrease.

Help others whenever you can. Some of the most successful people in life are those who respect and help the people that surround them. Doing things that help others make positive change become a part of their daily lives, even in the smallest ways, will make you feel good about yourself and cause you to be the kind of person that others want to be around.

Planning for success is the first step in achieving it and hopefully, this article has you planning all kinds of ways to improve yourself, your attitude and in turn, your life.
